Postdoc Position

I am searching for a postdoc to begin in the summer or fall of 2024 (exact date negotiable). The focus of the position is model theory and combinatorics, and it is attached to the Czech Science Foundation grant Model theory, structural combinatorics, and algorithms. Applicants may have a background either purely in model theory or combinatorics; structural graph theory is the combinatorial area most aligned with the grant, but applicants with other combinatorial backgrounds are also encouraged. The first two sections of my research statement give some indication of the scope of the grant, but the applicant's research need not be constrained by this.

The initial contract will be for one or two years, with the possibility of extension. The position is at the Computer Science Institute (IUUK) of Charles University in Prague. There are no teaching duties, although there are opportunities for those interested. The position has an annual salary of approximately 29000 euros (60000 CZK per month), as well as travel funding.

To apply, email sbraunfeld@iuuk.mff.cuni.cz with a brief cover letter, CV, and research statement, and arrange for at least two letters of reference to be sent. The subject for both the application email and the letters should mention the applicant's name. Applications received by the end of January will receive full consideration, although applications will be considered until the position is filled, at which point this page will be removed. Alternatively, one can follow the instructions to apply broadly for a postdoc position at the Computer Science Department of Charles University as advertised here, and mention interest in working with me.
